Stone Oak Country Club was founded in 1921 and was originally known as Glengarry Country Club. Stone Oak Country Club's 160-acre private 18 hole, par-71 championship golf was originally designed by S.P. Jermaine and consisted of nine unique holes carved among the dense forest and swamp lands.  Almost immediately, an expansion project began.  Initially three holes were added, then two more.  By the late 40's, the completion of nine additional holes was achieved.  In 1954, golf course architect Robert Bruce Harris redesigned the 18 hole golf course that you see today.

The original Clubhouse, which resembled a large blue barn with a wraparound porch, stood in the same location that exists today. In the mid-1980's the Glengarry Clubhouse fell victim to a destructive fire and burnt to the ground. In 1988, the Club was acquired by Cavalear Properties Limited Partnership and in 2001, ownership was transferred to the Membership of Stone Oak Country Club.  Throughout this time, Stone Oak has developed into a popular, upscale residential country club community.
It is the policy of Stone Oak Country Club to provide its Members, their guests, and other members of the public, access to all of the Club’s facilities without regard to a person’s race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, ancestry, political beliefs, familial status, or military status. This policy applies to all of the accommodations, advantages, facilities or privileges of the Club. This includes the use of assistance animals. However, assistance animals may not eat from the table when in the dining areas of the Club and must be kept heeled and in an orderly manner near their master. Except in special situations approved in advance where the presence of an assistance animal is required, assistance animals are also prohibited from entering the water in the pool area.
